He said that in 2025, contracts were signed with Chinese companies CNOOC and Sinopec for subsurface use for the Zhylyoi projects in Atyrau region and Berezovsky in West Kazakhstan region. Major international companies Turkish Petroleum Corporation, BP and the Croatian Agency for Hydrocarbons are exploring promising sites in our country. He reported that KazMunaiGas is currently focused on geological exploration of deep and poorly explored areas.
Drilling of 8 exploratory wells was completed in 2025, and 24 more are planned to be drilled by 2029. The total investment will exceed $900 million.
According to the presented report, by the end of 2025, the volume of oil and condensate production amounted to 26.2 million tons, which is 10% higher than the level of 2024. In addition, work is underway to increase gas production by an additional 2.3 billion cubic meters per year at the Zapadnaya Prorva, Tsentralny Urikhtau and Rozhkovskoye fields.
Last year, three KazMunayGas refineries processed 17.5 million tons of oil. The volume of production of light oil products amounted to 13.6 million tons, which is 1.2 million tons higher than in 2024.
